COMBINING the two joys of his life - family and music - has made Berwick entertainer Kerrigan La-Brooy feel complete.
So when the acclaimed singer-songwriter takes to the stage this month for a performance in Hampton Park, it's no surprise his four children will join him.
"I'm really hoping they'll get on stage with me, and so far they are looking forward to it, and certainly join in when I try and rehearse," he said.
"They seem to have a natural musical ability, so I'd love if they could one day for a band."
The full-time father, part-time author said he still "found the time" to dedicate to his craft, but with four children aged under 4? - and a fifth on the way - his priorities had naturally shifted.
"I'd love to do as many gigs as possible but the kids, and my wife Michelle, come first at the moment.
"I put my career on hold for my children, and so I want to include them in everything," La-Brooy said.
"This concert will be a great night for the whole family - a chance for people to dance the night away, and enjoy some diverse music including country, rock'n'roll and ballads."
A few special guests from the Casey area, including Sheralyn Hill, Backstage Dance Academy and Jessie Hilder, will also perform.
In his 20-plus year career, La-Brooy has had varied success nationally and abroad, including five nominations at the seventh annual Golden Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2003.
Only recently, a song he penned almost two decades ago - Youth of Today- spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Sri Lankan charts. Another tune Together Tonight made the top 20 in Europe.
Kerrigan La-Brooy's concert is at Arthur Wren Hall in Stuart Avenue, Hampton Park, from 7.30pm on Saturday, March 17. Tickets: Adults $15, children $7 (under 5 free). Discounts for group bookings.
